Monterosso Beach
The train ride into Monterosso felt like slipping into something slower. Morning sun touched the sea just enough to warm the breeze, and the village moved at a quiet pace. Monterosso’s beach stretched wide and open, dotted with early risers and the occasional swimmer. It’s the only true stretch of sand in Cinque Terre and a welcome pause between coastal hikes. From here, the other villages feel close, each one just a short train ride or trail away.
The path between Vernazza and Corniglia wound along the cliffs, cut into terraced hillsides and framed by the sea. Hikers passed by in soft conversation, the kind that fades as quickly as it arrives. Trattoria dal Billy
Dinner was at Trattoria dal Billy in Manarola, tucked just above the sea. Tables were full of fresh seafood, handmade pasta, and people leaning into the ease of the evening. The view stretched past boats bobbing in the harbour, out to where the water caught the last of the sun. The food, the light, the rhythm of it all. Nothing rushed, nothing overdone. Just quiet care, in every detail. Much like the collection itself.
